We Are Dead Elk
The Dead Elk Society works to promote social interaction and networking between graduate students, faculty, and staff in the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences.

Social Events & Networking
We are on a mission to create space for connecting the SEFS community through social events big and small. The Dead Elk Society is proud to host annual events like the Graduate Student Retreat and Battle of the Beasts. We also provide food, drinks, and activities for the End-of-Year Holiday Party, Graduate Student Symposium, Graduate Orientation, and more. We host activities on and off campus, so be sure to follow our socials and emails about game nights, outings, and more.
Learning Together
We are fostering a community of growth and support. The Dead Elk Society creates opportunities to learn together through our quarterly writing group and more. If you'd like to connect with other grads to talk about writing grant proposals, defending your thesis, managing difficult working relationships, etc., reach out and we'll help connect you with the right people either through one-on-one mentorship or through a group event!
